Subject: Fw: I took the pledge - Have you?

Well the congress has done it.

As of the morning of the bail out vote in the House of Representatives, polls showed that the American people were 74% against any bail out for the Wall Street fat cats. We wanted a fix from the bottom up and not from the top down. Fix 'Main Street' not Wall Street we told them. They didn't do it.

However they did agree with the bloated $700 billion the Senate passed for their greedy Wall Street friends with another $150 Billion of Pork. So now our children are on the hook for at least $850 billion and no one can tell us if it will work or will be the last.

Meanwhile, 'We The People' continue to lose our jobs and homes.

Our elected representatives have chosen to ignore us, 'We The People' whom they swore to represent.

They think we are stupid. They think we don't have the guts to clean house. They think 'they know better' than we on 'Main Street' do.

So...

I have taken the Pledge:

I, (put your name here), will NOT vote for any incumbent in the upcoming election regardless of party. I intend to do my part in 'throwing the bums out' in Washington that continue spending my money on those that have wrecked our economy rather than the people who sent them there. This is my solemn pledge.

Mail this to your Representative and Senators, to all your friends and all news media, both local and national. Email this to all the talking heads on the cable outlets, Lou Dobbs, Bill O'Reilly, Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, Alan Colmes, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and with every blog and talk show host you know of.

Urge everyone you meet to take the Pledge.

This the only way we, the American People, will ever take back our own government.

They keep telling us that the only power we have is the vote. So... For once let's use it!!!!!

Believe me... if we turn them all out THERE WILL BE CHANGE!!!!

Do we have the guts? Do you???

If not, then you don't have any right to complain if they continue to screw us over.

Magnificent diatribe Rob. I have been watching the news, picturing you turning a fine shade of beetroot.

I think Bush's bail-out is a done deal though. Meanwhile on this side of the pond banks are being rescued and/or deposits guaranteed across Europe. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7521250.stm

Well, the Senate didnt pass a $700 billion bailout today. [They passed an *$800 billion plan].

Guess we gotta learn to be more specific when we speak to legislators.

House vote is still pending.

btw: It is now "The Main Street Rescue Plan". Granted they'll still give the money to Wall Street... but dammit a new name just makes all the difference. [Geeze]

I had a long long discussion with a market wizard today. I gained a better understanding of what happened.

However, it seems I was right all along. I didn't need all that new understanding.

GREED.

What part of history did these bozos sleep through? And was that class before or after Economics 101?

Perhaps they were off playing Monopoly, and gained an unrealistic idea of the value of money. And Monopoly money is what it's going to take... the government should claim "eminent domain" and seize all of the Monopoly games in the country and use *that* money. After all it's already been printed. Holds the same value too.

O'Reilly's made it clear he lost money in the market and had no clue he was heavily invested in funds backed by paper that was cyanide laced with garbage mortgages.

Like most of Washington, he's a free market fan until it's HIS ox getting gored... then he sees the wisdom of the federal government getting into the business of bailing out companies that got in trouble due to greed and stupidity.

I gotta remember this if I ever go to the Mirage. Once Doyle Brunson has me in hock for more money than I can make in 200 centuries I'll just call my congressman. Why should my creditors have to suffer from my stupidity... hell, thats bad for the economy.

I dont want a bailout, mind you, calling it a rescue is fine with me as long as I'm rewarded for losing my ass.

But Rob, the world will end if we don't do this! No one will ever lend anyone else a dime. No one will ever, (EVER!) buy a new car or a house. Every business in the country will close.

Oh my God! I was writing the above in jest, and I started listening to the TV in the back ground. Bill O'Reilly was saying in total seriousness what I was saying above.
